Our Research

These research studies push the boundaries of trauma research and search for new and novel ways to diagnose and treat trauma injuries.

These studies span the patient journey in the following catagories:

  • Immediate response to injury – our centre is unique in that we can collect blood samples within the first hour of injury working with West Midlands Ambulance Service. This means we are able to collect patient data immediately.
  • Improving diagnostics – getting a patient diagnosed with the correct condition or injury as fast as possible is essential so the correct form of treatment can begin immediately.
  • Novel treatment – the team are working on ways in which to translate their research studies into new and novel treatments aimed at benefiting the patient.
  • Reconstruction and re-enablement – collaborating with different scientists and clinicians we are working on new techniques to repair and reconstruct tissue following trauma.
