Tony studied Intercalated Pharmacology at University of London, and graduated in Medicine from University College London in 1992. He has established clinical research in the Critical Care Unit focusing on infection control in the critically ill.
Prof Tony Whitehouse is a critical care consultant and anaesthetist based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham. He is lead for Critical Care Research and Chief Investigator for the NIHR-funded STRESS-L study, due to report in 2020. He is principal investigator for a number of studies on the NIHR portfolio. Some of his other studies are to investigate the use of large datasets for outcomes in critical care and a study of the microbiome in critically ill patients.
