‘Birmingham Objective Scar Scale (BOSS) study’
Speaker: Kwang Chear Lee
With the emergence of new pharmalogical anti-scarring treatments, there is a need for validated and objective scar measurement devices. However there is currently a lack of sensitive and specific tools that can aid clinicians in making an objective evaluation of a scar. The objective of the Birmingham Objective Scar Scale (BOSS) study is to validate a panel of selected objective scar measurement tools in burn scars in terms of reproducibility (single and multiple assessors) and combining the scores of the different scar tools to form a single, easy to understand, objective global scar score.
Followed by discussion and project updates from NIHR SRMRC staff.
All NIHR SRMRC/Scar Free Foundation/associated projects staff and researches are encouraged to attend. This is the ideal opportunity to keep up with all related news and developments.
