NIHR HTC launch event
08 April 2013
A full-day launch event is being held for the NIHR Birmingham Trauma Management Healthcare Technology Co-operative (HTC) to showcase the co-operative’s objectives and plans, as well provide a networking opportunity.
The event is aimed at strategic partners, clinicians, academics, patients and the families, and representatives of industry interested in healthcare technologies.
The HTC is hosted by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust (UHB) and is one of eight such co-operatives around the country. The HTC scheme is run by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and provides funding to NHS organisations to act as centres of expertise, developing new concepts which are applicable across the NHS.
UHB was supported in its bid by a number of partners including the University of Birmingham, Birmingham Children’s Hospital and the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine, and will be working collaboratively with these and other organisations, including patient groups, charities, and partners in industry.
The full day launch event will take place on Monday, 8 April, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The event will be an opportunity to discuss the future of trauma technologies, meet strategic partners, explore opportunities for collaborations and how projects can benefit from collaboration with the HTC.
